The Good Samaritan Hiker in the Santa Fe National Forest
On Friday, August 21, 2020, John Utsey, 47, was hiking on the Windsor Trail in the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico with his two children Jasper, aged 10, and Jocelyn, 12. Then he heard an unexpected voice from within the forest, off the trail, calling for help.
What followed was a failed official search and then a brave return to find the source of the voice from the forest, ultimately leading to his rescue against the odds. A true story of a Good Samaritan in the Sante Fe National Forest.
